Frankie's Photos
January 26, 2010
Frankie was my first senior EVER that I took pictures of, and he returned a couple nights ago for some updated pictures. Enjoy Frankie!!!

Big Little Guy Cash
January 22, 2010
A few days ago I got a call for 1st birthday pictures for Cash. Like most 1 year olds, he was very busy and curious!!! He seemed to have a great time and I hope his parents Love the results! :)
Nicole's Night
January 21, 2010
Nicole came for outside pics at the end of fall, and last night was her night at the studio. It was a lot of fun, with lots of giggles!!!

Like Mother, Like Daughter
January 19, 2010
Nataley honored me with her presence at the studio the other night as she 'modeled' some dress up clothes I made for her tea party a month ago. They're taking up way too much space and need to go! While she was there, Nataley discovered some new equipment of mine that was bundled into a needed upgrade. Most importantly - the remote trigger!!!

She had an absolute blast getting to take pictures of herself (over 400!!!) and of us together. There were even a few 'keepers' surprisingly enough! Like below - perhaps not print quality, and yes, I would have preferred not to have been cropped so closely, but still neat to see us side by side - obviously she cannot be mistaken as another's daughter.

Wii Face
January 18, 2010
To celebrate MLK Day, the boys got to play a new Wii game that they adore. I couldn't help but notice the hilarity of their ''Wii Face'' as they got so fully involved and committed to the game.

Nataley was taking a Wii little break and cheering the boys on. I got one of those rare 'natural' looks for a picture. I love natural :)

She also requested I take a picture and post it here of her purse. She went on a date with Daddy over the weekend and we practiced packing a purse for a date - a little bit of money, lipstick, and a charged cell phone.

Deer Hunting
January 17, 2010
It's a foggy day here, and Nataley and I went for a drive to see what we could see!

Like an old building...

And a field with old crops peaking out through the snow...

And a tree trying to hide in the fog...
Then I slowed down and pulled to the side to show Nataley that I saw something a bit more animated.

DEER!!! There were nine scattered around. It was Nataley's first time seeing deer in the wild. She's been able to pet and feed them before at a carnival. But this was much more exciting. She thought for sure we must have driven so far we were near the north pole and these were some of Santa's deer. Wow, what a tiny world view she still has. Isn't it cute?

It didn't take them long to get scared off. We took back roads following them for several miles before they were so far away we could no longer see them in the fog.

Basketball w/ the Boys
January 16, 2010
I got to watch at least a few minutes of the game of my boys before I had to meet with my cheerleaders. And of course, try to get a couple pictures. They both are loving playing ball, and I'm so thankful they are with a stress-free league. It's their first year playing and, well, our family heritage isn't one filled with any emphasis on sports. I will be happy if, by the end of the year, each boy has made one basket.

Newborn Baby M
January 11, 2010
It must be newborn season! I was so happy to get the call that Baby M was born and ready for his photos.
It was fun getting to use my kanga pouch again so soon, though I think at first the mom thought I was nuts by suggesting he was going inside...

Basket, Basket, We Wanna Basket!
January 10, 2010
Saturday morning started basketball for the boys, and cheerleading for Nataley and I. It was... interesting. I can't report much on how the boys did, though I did hear Nataley cheer, ''YEA! I SAW THAT CHRIS!'' when her brother made a basket, and got to see Joshua dribbling a little bit. I was so proud of them, but sad I was missing it. But, I coach cheerleading for Kindergarten and First Graders (and yes, it's as unorganized, nutty, and hilareous as you can imagine!) so my back was to the game most of the time. Next week I'll be able to watch - AND get pictures!

For now all I have is an after game shot that the kids let me get real quick in the studio :)
Sweet Surprises
January 9, 2010
Friday night was the opening reception for a photo exhibit that I entered 5 photographs into. This is a ''jurried'' exhibit, which means entering does not mean you'll get in. Judges pick and choose what pieces will show, and also award distinctions and cash prizes to works in particular categories.

I was thrilled when I was notified all five of the five pieces I entered were accepted! Last year I entered 7 and only got two in the show.
My parents, husband and myself all headed to the reception for the delish deserts, wines, and art. I was so surprised, and excited, when I arrived to find two of my photographs received special distinction. These two were the one shown above - Nataley at the window, and the Gossips with all the seniors. (Thanks seniors!)
DONE!
January 7, 2010
The new website is now up and running!
Jodi Hattery Photography
Come see the new site and all the fun changes. This page was much more labor intensive at the get go, but now since it's set up I think it will be much easier making small changes, such as adding news, or a few new pics here and there.
It only seemed fitty to give the blog a tiny makeover as well. Do you like my la-di-ta music? I'm not sure I could find anything to match my personality more. I'm very much a la-di-ta person... after my morning coffee ;)
In other news, I have over a dozen girls booked for Butterfly Brilliance sessions in May and June. These are limited time sessions and do not go all summer, and they will be selling out. Make sure to get on the books by calling and booking your appointment!!!
That Time Again...
January 1st, 2010
January and February are my time to work behind the scenes with redoing the website, blog, catch up on book keeping, and so forth. So with a trip to Mc Ds for dinner, I managed to get a good chunk of the new site design done and even have a functioning portion (not uploaded). I decided with the multitude of whimsy session emails and calls I've been getting (I AM SO EXCITED FOR SPRING!!!) I wanted to make that stand out more on the website. So, Portraits, Whimsy, and Weddings. That was a good start. Oh, gotta have a link to the blog. And seniors. Can't forget the seniors!!! I wouldn't be in business without my beloved seniors!!! By the time it was over I had six main sections that will each have a bit of a mini site. Seniors, Children, and Weddings will all have their own spot with their own galleries (like normal) tips, FAQs, and so forth.
Here's your little sneak peek at the Whimsy page. White?! Yeah I'm know. I've always loved how the black really pops, but am so up for a change.

And while I'm all about the white today, here's a little picture of Nataley I took today. She is very much in love with her unnamed new doll and LOVES dressing like her. I am so totally loving this sweet, nurturing side of Nataley that has been in great abundance recently. She talks often about her husband and when she's going to be tall enough to get married, and always wants to cook and clean. This was not me at all. I don't think I ever wanted to learn to cook or clean with my mom (or perhaps just don't remember?)
